This is a story that needs to be told to my GED students who may be going through obstacles and struggles in their life, to show them how they can turn around an awful background into a positive productive life for themselves. Please contact me about coming to our center to speak. (678-566-2206 or email given above)

LIN, I HOPE YOU GET THIS MESSAGE! I CRIED THE WHOLE TIME I WAS READING YOUR LETTER. I TOO WAS A FOSTER CHILD FOR TEN YEARS, IN SIX DIFFERENT HOMES. I UNLIKE YOU NEVER GOT OVER ALL THE HURT AND PAIN. I AM 58 YEARS OLD AND STILL A VERY LONELY PERSON. I AM MARRIED TO AN ACOHOLIC AND I STILL SUFFER FROM ABUSE, I CAN't BE HAPPY, I GUESS IT WASN't MEANT TO BE. I DON'T BLAME ANYONE BUT MYSELF. YOU WOULD THINK I COULD JUST FORGET THINGS . MY ONLY OUTLET IS PRAYER. WHICH I DO ALOT OF. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS, THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR STORY AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Thank you so much for sharing your story and your victory in life ... you truly are an amazing woman and inspiration for us all. I was very fortunate to grow up in a good loving home with both of my parents, but I've always had a heart for those that are less fortunate.
Please continue doing what you are doing ... you and your organization is making such a GREAT and HUGE difference for some many.

Wishing you and all involved God's Abundant Blessings Always,
Marsha

Hi Lin,

I just knew I absolutely had to read your story after I read your post on my June 2010 post. Your story makes my heart cry for your pain and I cried for your success too. You are an amazing woman. You are beautiful, brilliant, powerful, goal oriented, you've helped save your siblings. Oh my, words can not express how proud I am of you. I'm truly sorry you had to experience all that you did but your works today are priceless. I actually had to chuckle when I read you didn't know your own phone number because I wasn't allowed to know mine either. Our stories are so similar but the good thing is that we have overcome. We are success stories. We have contributed to this world in a positive way. You, Lin, deserve a standing ovation for your courage and foresight!
Many blessings to you!

As a foster mother, Biological Mother and Adoptive mother - I am sooo sorry the beginning of your life and that it was pure hell! It still amazes me how strong some kids become because of those unbearable experiences. It must be true "what does not kill you makes you stronger" because my son is a perfect example of that saying! He too lived a life similar to yours and is now featured in the August 2010 article. I always say "he is 13 going on 30" because I have never meet a more mature young man in my life! He is my inspiration and he is what makes me want to help others... Keep moving forward and never look back!

When I was a little girl growing up in Morristown, Tn, my parents used to take my brother and sister and I to Bean Station for lunch every Sunday after church. Close by there was a orphanage that we would visit and take clothes and food and toys. I remember playing with a little girl, regularly, but of course today cannot remember her name. I'm interested in the history of that orphanage and it's name. Can you or anyone help me? I am now 58, so this would have been 48 years ago. The orphanage most likely was still in existence all through the 60's. Thanks.

It still surprises me how cruel people can be especially to children, which are the most beautiful people in the world. Mrs. Seahorn, your story is amazing and I applaud you for your determination. God is defintely working through you. Continue the great work, God bless you!

I also was beatened by my father and step mother-I have been beatned with 2 by board board across my back; I had to sit for hours on the cellar(basement)steps as punishm, ent; I have gone to bed many times without eating; I have been awaken from dead
sleep to be beatne' ste- mother used to slap us across thhe face
regularly; but the worst abused I experienced was mental abuse-no matter what I did, it was not good enough-I could go through a
great deal and tell you more stories, but this enough-that is why I am interested in volunteering for Children with a voice-we didn't have one back in the 50"s

Your story is truly an inpsiring tale of triumph over adversity. It takes a special person to redirect the negative feelings and emotions from one's past and channel them into something so positive. I wish you much success in your mission to save the lives of children. I can think of no higher calling.
